2024 Resolutions

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

As we end the current year we always think of how to do things differently in the new year. From eating healthier, to losing weight, quit smoking or drinking less, spending more time with the family, or exercising more, the list goes on and on.

In a survey done by Forbes.com 48% of the people surveyed want to improve their fitness, 36% want to improve their mental health, and 38% want to improve their finances. I love that people want to improve in their finances but sheesh, 38% seems like a low number.

But how do you improve your finances for 2024? You create a financial plan. That’s right, if you create a financial plan, you will win in 2024. It’s not as hard as you might think.

When creating a financial plan for the new year, just look at the calendar. There are significant dates to plan for that always repeat themselves.

  • For those of you in a relationship, Valentine's Day comes every February.

  • Also for those in a relationship, your anniversary (men, don’t forget this one). That date doesn’t change.

  • Mark significant birthdays on the calendar.

  • Some of you like that auto insurance discount for paying in full but never remember to plan for when the next payment is scheduled.

  • Eating out. You don’t have to set a date but you can set an amount of monthly spending that you will stick to.

  • Guess what we just went through? Christmas! It happens the same time every year and every year I hear people say “I should have started saving months ago”.

If you want to win in your finances for 2024, creating a financial plan. This will be the key to your success within your financial journey for 2024.
